🌲 WildPass

Host liability insurance directory

WildPass provides no liability insurance to hosts — carrying your own coverage is your responsibility and, we believe, non-negotiable before your first paid booking (see the Landowner Terms). Typical options: a hunt-lease liability policy (often $1M+ coverage for a few hundred dollars a year), a farm/ranch premises policy, or an agritourism rider on existing coverage. This directory is a starting point, not a recommendation — WildPass has no affiliation with any provider and earns nothing from these listings.

In every state: Farm Bureau & local ag agents

Every state has a Farm Bureau federation whose affiliated insurance companies (or partner carriers) write farm, ranch, and rural premises liability — usually through a county office that knows your area's land and can quote recreational-use riders. Independent agricultural insurance agents in your county are the other reliable path; ask specifically for "recreational lease liability" or "agritourism liability" coverage.

Questions to ask any insurer: Does the policy cover paid recreational access (not just free permission)? Which activities are included — hunting, ATVs, horses, and swimming are often separate endorsements? What are the per-occurrence and aggregate limits ($1M/$2M is a common floor)? Are guests' guests covered? Does it require guest waivers (WildPass provides a waiver tool)? And does charging a fee void your state's recreational-use statute protection — and does this policy fill that gap?
