Terms & Conditions โ Recreational Users
Effective August 24, 2026 ยท These terms govern anyone browsing WildPass or booking access to land ("you," "guest"). Landowners are governed by the Landowner Terms. Creating an account requires agreeing to these terms.
1. What WildPass is โ and is not
WildPass is a marketplace that connects people seeking outdoor access with landowners offering it, and a directory of public and open-access lands. WildPass does not own, control, inspect, or maintain any land listed on the platform. We are not a party to the access arrangement between you and a host, we are not an outfitter or guide service, and we make no representation that any property is safe or suitable for any activity.
2. Assumption of risk โ read this carefully
Outdoor recreation is inherently dangerous. Activities available through WildPass โ including but not limited to hunting, fishing, foraging, hiking, swimming, camping, climbing, ATV and off-road riding, horseback riding, cycling, winter sports, and paddling โ can cause serious injury, permanent disability, or death. Hazards include terrain, weather, water, ice, falling trees and limbs, wildlife, livestock, insects, plants, fungi, machinery, firearms, tree stands, and other guests.
By booking any pass you voluntarily accept these risks in full and participate entirely at your own risk. To the maximum extent permitted by law, you release WildPass, its owners, and its staff from any claim arising out of your use of listed land. Hosts may additionally require you to sign a liability waiver before entry; refusing to sign cancels the booking.
Read the Field Safety rules โ they are part of these terms.
3. Foraging, hunting & consumption
Never eat any plant or mushroom you have not identified with 100% certainty. Species information on listings is provided by hosts as a good-faith guide and is not a guarantee of identification, edibility, or safety. WildPass and hosts accept no responsibility for illness or death resulting from consuming foraged material.
Hunting and fishing require valid state licenses, tags, and stamps โ your WildPass booking is land permission only. You are solely responsible for complying with all game laws, seasons, weapon restrictions, and safety-zone rules.
4. Your obligations on the land
Follow the listing's rules, harvest limits, and zone map. Stay in open (green) zones; never enter restricted (red) zones. Pack out all trash. Close gates. No smoking where prohibited. Bring no more guests than your pass allows, only during your booked window. Violations may result in removal, rating penalties, account termination, and forfeiture of fees โ and may constitute criminal trespass.
5. Bookings, payments & cancellations
Prices are set by hosts. Guests pay the listed price plus a 6% WildPass platform fee. Payments are processed by Stripe; the host is the merchant of record. Cancellation and refund policies are set per listing by the host; contact the host through your booking for changes. Chargebacks filed to bypass a host's stated policy may lead to account termination.
6. No warranties; limitation of liability
The platform, including maps, species lists, season estimates, hunting-regulation overlays, and public-land cost information, is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. Regulations change; always verify with the official agency. To the maximum extent permitted by law, WildPass's total liability for any claim is limited to the platform fees you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
7. Accounts, conduct & disputes
You must be 18+ to book (minors only under a booking adult's supervision). One account per person; accurate information required. Harassment, misrepresentation, poaching, and commercial harvest on personal passes are prohibited. Disputes with WildPass are resolved by binding arbitration on an individual basis under Michigan law, except where prohibited. We may update these terms; continued use after notice is acceptance.
